Music/Life/Music

100 Acres at D! D! GAllery

A lot of things have happened since my last entry.... 100 Acres (myspace.com/of100acres) is now in full swing and we are recording our first ep that is called "on horses". I feel like these four songs are definitely a good first look into the mind of 100 Acres. The ep will be done this spring and i will post a link on here about purchasing it. We will also be selling them at shows. Ill also get off my lazy ass and start posting the flyers for our shows so all you readers out there(nobody) can show up and we can all be berdz together!

ok... uhh...

more things..

Emily is beautiful and we are happy.

School os ok... boring and also time consuming.

Music, Music, Music! ok where do i start really.... Well two of my best friends and bandmates are playing with our good friends and amazing musicians/awesome dudes Ugh God. John(guitars-100 Acres) is playing Upright Bass for a few shows with Sean From Ugh God and Jon(trumpet/guitars-100 Acres) is playing horns for Ugh God as well. They are going to be playing some shows and i think a four day tour soon... more info on that later.

Also we are already working on, and have been, our full length that will also come out this year but im not sure when. All i have to say is your going to kill yourself because this album is gonna rule so hard.

umm..

yess. more music. We are also going to release an additional ep almost immediately after "on horses" is done. That ep is titled "all alone" and consists of 4 songs that we are recording in one day 100% live. The ep is called "all alone" because each song is written by only one member of 100 Acres. So, one song written by me, one song by john, one song by jon, and one song by ben. The song can be any style of music and can have any instrumentation or musicians that you desire to play on it.... So, "all alone" can be explained by the fact that the songs are written alone but we are releasing the album together as one band. yes. awesome. -things to expect from 100 Acres on "all alone"- acoustic guitars, many trumpets, 4 drummers on one song, classical piano, upright bass, myabe guest vocalist beyonce knowles(or just some soulful black chick) and i honestly dont know what else...

ok. Enough about 100 Acres.

I am recording a shiz ton of music on my own and have numerous ideas for projects with other people. I might be doing a doom metal project with one of the drummers from Ugh God. I might be starting an alt pop project with my friends Zack(myspace.com/throwmeoverboard) and Tim(myspace.com./theshepheardandthesea) I dono... So much music and so little time..and energy.

w/ee

ok so basically summer is right around the corner and i love everyone and life is pretty good.

sketchbook 1/27

I learn a lot about myself from my old sketchbooks, but these little gems were produced during one of my classes today. Some teachers blab on and on. Sometimes brains need more; mine creates when it needs more.

Caleb

Some times you can so obviously predict future events and presuppose outcomes... We usually think that being the wise human beings that we are, there could be no fate and no flaw in thine own thought. We always prove ourselves wrong and nature tumbles upon our puny little brains with its chaotic likeness.
A boy turns to man. Slowly. Surely. I cant remember the last time i had a chat with myself at the age of 15. The reason for that probably being i never had the chance. I wish that it was humanly possible in our day and age to do such a thing as "having a good laugh" at how dumb we are in our exact moment of stupidity... but maybe the possibilities are here.
When i look at him i see myself with something more. I see his life and me being able to help him correct his mistakes before they are ever made. I see an indivual with a future. I see a brighter future than the one i had planned at 15.
Dare i say it but God... Please don't let him be like me. I have brought fury to my name and hell hath no wrath that was bestowed upon me from times past but i have learned. Every man deserves grace But that doesn't mean every man should need it.

mountains of grief vs abundant joy

Sometimes during an altercation with a slimy withering dream you receive a gift that you can't understand. You ruin the passion and thought that was put into that gift before you can begin to enjoy it's possibilities. Nothing matters more than your selfish, impure, unwise, and semi-sadistic decisions. ....... There will come a day where all of that will change and you will receive your gift, sent from some benevolent force, and you will enjoy the gift and it will enjoy you whilst nothing else can wet your thoughts like the heaviest diaper in the brightest hour of summer. Nothing can harm you. You will be happy. You will live your life and die with a smile.
